THESE ARE PAINTINGS. LET’S TALK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND
Dear Marilyn Minter, you’re a badass. Look at more of her stuff.

“If I Say (Truths from the Quiet Kid in the Back)”
If I say, “Please be quiet,” It doesn’t mean that I don’t want to hear what you have to say.
It just means that I need it to be quiet right now.
If I say, “Please don’t touch me,” it doesn’t mean that I’m rejecting your affection.
It just means that I need you not to touch me right now.
If I say, “Please go away,” it doesn’t mean that I hate you.
It just means that I need to be alone right now.
Sometimes I can’t say the words I really want to say. And I’m sorry for that.
But no matter what I say, I’m not trying to make you feel bad.
I’m just trying to make myself feel better.
I found this poem when I was looking through my old writings; it was written when I was nine or ten (not to shabby for a kid, eh?). I realise that it’s very childish and straight-forward, but I think it works better in this state. So I cleaned up any grammatical mistakes, added some doodles and decided to post it here. The dinosaur hat chibi is me; the other three are my sisters.
